Searching for lynx in Andalucía… The Iberian lynx Searching for lynx in Andalucía…

The Iberian lynx is one of Europe’s most elusive carnivores. So I genuinely didn’t expect to find them not once, but twice over a few days exploring Sierra de Andújar. But Margaza is a well-known female who roams one of the area’s beautiful valleys, so there’s a good chance of seeing her if you have a little patience.

The area also has an incredible array of wildlife, like otters (love them!), ibex, deer, foxes and birdlife. Perfect for wildlife photographers. I still can’t believe I left my long lens at home 😭

Such a great few days with @thecarnivoreconservationist

If you want to find out more about searching for lynx in southern Spain, there’s a brand new post about it on my blog! Check the link in my bio 💫

A little beauty from Vietnam 🇻🇳 I can’t believe A little beauty from Vietnam 🇻🇳

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I was in this incredible country. I don’t normally make plans to visit somewhere twice, but I can’t stop thinking about this place. Whether it’s this year or next, I will be coming back.

Vietnam 🇻🇳 on one side, China 🇨🇳 on the other. Whe Vietnam 🇻🇳 on one side, China 🇨🇳 on the other. When visiting Ban Gioc Waterfall in far northern Vietnam, it’s strange to see all the tourists on the other side of the river - a side you’re not allowed to step foot on. However, for a brief moment, the boats that take you close to the main falls cross the boundary into the Chinese side of the Quay Son River! Was fun to imagine I might have been in China, if only for a moment.

The most beautiful evening light across the mounta The most beautiful evening light across the mountains of Nong Khiaw 🌞

Nong Khiaw in northern Laos is a hiker’s paradise, with multiple trails to viewpoints around the valley. Though all pretty steep, the trails range from half an hour to multiple days, so there’s something for everyone.

Along with Luang Prabang, this lovely little town has to be on everyone’s Laos bucket list. The journey there is long and bumpy, but absolutely worth it!

Do you recognise this animal? It’s the most-traffi Do you recognise this animal? It’s the most-trafficked in the world.

The elusive pangolin was at the top of my bucket list for so long, I still can’t believe I got to see a wild one with my own eyes. Watching this curious animal wander through the dry grass, I couldn’t wrap my head around the sheer number of them that are killed every year (at least 100,000!), just for those scales, which are made of the same stuff as our fingernails! Because of the continuing demand for them from China and Vietnam, these animals need to be protected.

What do you think - should traditional medicine be respected even if it means harming animals?
When I first visited Luang Prabang, I wondered whe When I first visited Luang Prabang, I wondered where everyone was, because compared to Vietnam, where I had just come from, it was so peaceful and quiet. Well, except for the top of Phousi Hill at sunset!

Though the top of the hill gets really busy as the sun sets over the Mekong, it’s definitely one of the best things to do in town. Just look at those views 😍

New on the blog - a full post about all the reasons you should visit Luang Prabang on your next trip to Laos or South East Asia. Check it out by clicking the link in my bio!

Getting out into nature in La Garrotxa Volcanic Zo Getting out into nature in La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Two days filled with incredible views, fun hikes and fascinating geology (if I hadn’t been an animal nerd, I would have been a rock nerd).

There’s so much to this area, and it’s incredible to see how they have embraced the nature of the area, creating a sustainable, responsible and local-focused economy that celebrates their natural history. I wish I’d had more time to explore!
